A Power of Attorney is required when transacting on behalf of an owner not present at the time of the transaction.
Acceptable Powers of Attorney:
- Specific/Limited Powers of Attorney - A vehicle specific DR 2175 Power of Attorney for a Motor Vehicle Only is available for motor vehicle related transactions.
- General or Military Power of Attorney - A copy is acceptable. A DR 2842 Supplemental Secure and Verifiable Identification Information and Attestation Clause completed with the grantor’s information may also be required.
Please be aware that Powers of Attorney are null and void upon death of the grantor or grantee.
