What can I explore in Heritage Arts?

The Heritage Arts Project has many units and project opportunities including: 

  • Crochet
  • Knitting
  • Fiber
    • Macramé
    • Needle Arts
    • Rug Making
    • Spinning
    • Weaving
  • Non-Fiber
    • Ethnic Arts
  • Quilting
  • If you make something that can be worn, you can participate in Fashion Revue
Multiple children work on crocheting something at the same time.

Project units are designed for members 8-18 years old.

Crochet

Inspiring youth to:

  • Learn about the history of crochet
  • Create a crochet item that connects you to the past
  • Learn about the historic influences that crochet has had
  • Gain skills that might lead to a home-based business 

Knitting

Inspiring youth to:

  • Learn about the history of knitting
  • Create a knitted item that connects you to the past
  • Learn about the historic influences that knitting has had
  • Gain skills that might lead to a home-based business

Fiber and Non-fiber

Inspiring youth to:

  • Learn about the history of the fiber or non-fiber chosen
  • Create an item that connects you to the past
  • Learn about the historic influence that the fiber has had
  • Gain skills that might lead to a home-based business

Quilting

Inspiring youth to:

  • Learn about the history of quilting
  • Create a quilted item that connects you to the past
  • Learn about the historic influence that quilted items have had
  • Gain skills that might lead to a home-based business

4 -H Record Books are also called e-Records. Each project has its own record book that members are required to complete each year. The links to e-Records in the specific project areas are below. Record books are turned in at Interview Judging before our County Fair. In June, you will need to schedule an interview for each of your project areas and bring your record book with you to Interview Judging the week of the Larimer County 4-H Fair.
