General Requirements

All Liquid Propane Gas Facilities shall be readily accessible for inspection, reading, testing, and shutting off the gas supply at all times. All service piping and main supply shut-off valves shall be outside the building. Discharge from Relief Valves shall be into open air and shall be not less than 5 feet horizontally away from any opening into a building which is below such discharge.

Two complete sets of plans plus a minimum of five plot plans shall be submitted with each application for a permit that involves proposed new construction, additions to existing structures, or any alterations other than interior remodel. One set of plans remains on file, while the other set is returned to the customer to keep on the job for subcontractors and inspectors use.

Zoning is a method used by local governments to create zones or areas for different types of land uses to provide separation between uses that may be incompatible. An example of this is having different zoning districts or areas for residential uses and for industrial uses.

Building Activity reports provide a summary of the total number of permits issued for various types of construction (including a breakdown by territory) for the previous month and year to date for residential and commercial construction.
