Guide to Submitting Search Warrants

1. Standard Search Warrants

All search warrants must be reviewed by the District Attorney's (DA's) office before being submitted to the courts.

Late last night, a jury found Heather Cushman not guilty of murder in the second degree. In September of 2024, the Loveland Police Department received a call from Heather Cushman reporting that she had stabbed her father, John “Clint” Cushman, in his home.

Yesterday, a jury found Evan King not guilty of three counts of Sexual Assault of a Child by a Person of Trust. In July 2024, Evan King was arrested after two students came forward about inappropriate touching at the hands of Mr. King. Fort Collins Police conducted a thorough investigation and arrested Mr. King. A press release went out following his arrest, due to his role as an educator, law enforcement was concerned that there could be additional victims.

District Attorney's Citizens Academy Applications Open!

If you have ever been curious about how the justice system works in our community, or if you are interested in how our office approaches things like substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and more, then this is the class for you.

Robert Allen Johnson was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in the Department of Corrections after a jury found him guilty of assault in the first degree, a class three felony, menacing with a real or simulated weapon, a class five felony, assault in the third degree, a class one misdemeanor, and obstructing telephone service, a class one misdemeanor.

The Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement Board of the 8th Judicial District has announced grant applications for funding in 2026. The grant dollars are for agencies that serve crime victims in Larimer and Jackson Counties.
